The pictures in the gallery below show the progression of the construction of Dorcas Hall, from the original shell to the current stage. This is current as of July 2010. We hope to have the property completed and furnished by the fall of 2010.
The property has an electrical system made up of solar panels, batteries, an inverter system and a back-up diesel generator. The property is completely independent of the local power grid.
Grace Training and Conference Center - Grace Center has been a work in progress for several years and is becoming a serious need as the mission grows.
- We need a place where we can accommodate teams from the U.S. and hold conferences for our Haitian workers, and provide vocational training.
- There is currently a security wall surrounding the compound with a steel security gate, a small house for a guard, and one building which will eventually be the administration building for the complex.
- When completed, Grace Center, will provide:
◊ Dorm room accommodations for 200+ ◊ Rooms for missionaries ◊ Storage areas ◊ Vehicle maintenance facilities ◊ A meeting pavilion ◊ An administrative office area. - It will also operate as a guest house for traveling missionaries and others, which will provide income to cover the cost of operation of the center and help fund other ministries in Haiti.
- Our current project, which is nearly completed is the main administration buildng know as Dorcas Hall.
- Dorcas Hall will be able to accommodate up to about 45 people, in rooms with private baths, a dining facility, living room type area, administrator apartment, large classroom space and will have electric power 24/7- a luxury in Haiti. See the artists rendering above for a view of the building when completed.
